Nômade Temple makes its European debut in Madrid and Ibiza

Five questions with the brand behind two of Spain's most exciting new openings

Nômade Temple has spent over a decade building a devoted following across its properties in Tulum and Holbox and its European debut this year is one we've been eagerly anticipating. Our members know Madrid and Ibiza well. What Nômade brings to both is something that feels genuinely its own: hotels deeply rooted in the culture of their destination, where the programming, the food, the music and the wellness offering are all shaped by the place itself.

In Madrid, a historic early twentieth-century building on Gran Vía has been reimagined as a 93-room hotel with a restaurant, speakeasy bar, rooftop pool and GÖN House of Healing spa, an exciting addition to a city that has long favoured formality over personality. In Ibiza, a quieter address in the north of the island brings a spa carved into the natural rockface, four dining venues and a music and wellness programme rooted in the island's own creative spirit.

We put five questions to the Nômade team about what the brand brings to Spain and what you can expect from both properties.

What makes a Nômade hotel feel unlike anywhere else you could stay?

Nômade is less about a hotel stay and more about becoming part of a destination. Every property is deeply rooted in its surroundings, blending hospitality, culture, gastronomy, wellbeing and local creativity into one experience. We want guests to feel they are discovering a place from the inside rather than simply visiting it.

What is it about Spain specifically that felt right for the Nômade brand?

Spain naturally embodies many of the values that define Nômade: a vibrant social culture, a strong connection to food and community, an appreciation for design and creativity, and a lifestyle that encourages people to slow down and enjoy the moment. Madrid and Ibiza represent two very different but equally authentic expressions of that spirit.

How would you describe the Nômade guest?

Curious, open-minded and experience-driven. They value authenticity over formality, seek meaningful connections and are just as interested in discovering a neighbourhood café or local artist as they are in enjoying exceptional hospitality.

What does a perfect day look like at each hotel?

In Madrid, it could start with coffee overlooking Gran Vía at Café Libre, followed by exploring galleries, boutiques and hidden corners of the city before returning for cocktails and dinner with friends. In Ibiza, it might begin with a slow morning by our expansive swimming pool, wellness experiences at Gön House of Healing, discovering secluded beaches and ending with sunset moments that capture the island's unique energy.

Are the two Spanish properties designed to be experienced together, or do they each tell a completely different story?

Both. They share the same philosophy and sense of community, but they tell very different stories. Madrid offers the pulse of an urban cultural capital, while Ibiza provides a more relaxed and nature-driven escape. Together they showcase two complementary sides of contemporary Spain.
