The best luxury hotels for families with teenagers
Designed with your older kids in mind
Finding a hotel that ticks the boxes for both teens and their grown-ups can feel like an impossible task, but fear not – some places genuinely pull it off. These properties aren’t just stylish and sophisticated; they’re packed with things teens will actually want to do. From game rooms to jet skis and epic breakfast spreads, here are the hotels where teens can roam free – and maybe even forget to check their phones.
The Bodrum Edition, Turkey
The Bodrum Edition feels very grown-up, but without making younger guests feel like they’re on someone else’s holiday. The water sports team know how to show you a good time and there’s a climbing wall that will keep teens busy for hours. By night, the Beach Club transforms into a buzzy hotspot with exclusive weekly beach parties featuring top DJs and entertainers. The rooms are calm and cool, the breakfast spread will get the sleepiest teenager out of bed, and if anyone’s into photography, the light here does half the work.
Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok, Thailand
Urban, interesting and full of distractions, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok gives teenagers enough independence without throwing them into chaos. The huge infinity pool looks out over the Bangkok skyline, the food options are full of things you’ll all want to try (and photograph), and the location’s perfect for dipping into street markets and escaping just as quickly. There’s also a proper gym if someone’s mid fitness obsession, a pet-friendly policy if someone misses their dog, and a spa for fantastic massages and manicures.
Domes of Elounda, Crete
Private villas with pools, a dedicated teen zone, and a view that looks like it should come with its own myth. There’s a smart balance at Domes of Elounda between family time and freedom to do your own thing. The teens’ club avoids cartoon colours and actually has good stuff: think PS5s, paddleboarding and people their own age. You’ll also find a proper spa, a beach you don’t have to share with half of Europe, and a kids’ programme based on actual learning (but don’t tell them that). Evenings come alive with weekly DJ sets and live Greek nights.
Singita Serengeti House, Tanzania
If your teen’s idea of fun involves binoculars and big cats, Singita Serengeti House will blow their safari socks off. Game drives aside, there’s a Mini Rangers Course for learning bush skills, plus a tennis court, pool and plenty of space to run free. It’s an exclusive-use house, so your lot can spread out, take over the playlist and really make yourselves at home.
Montage Big Sky, Montana
This one’s for teens who don’t want to sit still – or who do, but only after a day full of snowboarding, zip-lining or scaling something tall. Montage Big Sky is in a private ski resort, which means space, quiet, and no queues for hot chocolate. Indoors, there’s bowling, games, and enough places to flop with a phone and ignore everyone for a bit. Staff get the tone just right, and the whole place has that confident, outdoorsy cool that makes screen-free moments feel like a choice, not a punishment.
Four Seasons Astir Palace, Athens, Greece
The Athens Riviera is having a moment, and teens get to join the fun at Four Seasons Astir Palace. Three private beaches, gelato by the pool, a sea turtle rescue centre and plenty of water sports keep things interesting. There’s even a basketball court for shooting hoops with a view. The kids’ club runs year-round, and for older kids who want a taste of city life, the Acropolis is only half an hour away.
Six Senses, Ibiza
If your teen has an eye for fashion, an interest in wellbeing, or a minor obsession with spotting famous people, Six Senses Ibiza could be their dream hotel. It’s where sustainability meets high style, with everything from paddleboarding to sushi workshops. There’s a proper spa, a cave bar, and extensive smoothie menus. The Beach Caves, the resort's oceanfront venue, offers a day-into-night experience with live music and a speakeasy-style cocktail bar. Rooms are beautifully grown-up but still comfortable enough for a family stay – and yes, there’s Wi-Fi strong enough for TikTok.
