If walls could talk, Hotel de Russie’s would have some stories to spill. Over the years, it has welcomed Ernest Hemingway, Pablo Picasso and Leonardo DiCaprio, who probably flocked for its legendary garden, a tiered city sanctuary of rose bushes and orange trees between Piazza del Popolo and the Spanish Steps. The rooms with terraces have some of the finest views in Rome. Cocteau called it ‘paradise on earth’, and he definitely had a point.
