Hotel Lord Byron
Rome, Italy
The patrician villa that is today the Lord Byron was built in 1939 and originally belonged to a wealthy engineer who then sold it to the Franciscan friars of Assisi. In 1970 it was taken over by the current owners who immediately started the important renovation that gave the building the style of a private residence, but at the same time, with all the comforts of a luxury hotel. Once the renovation work was completed, the property decided to dedicate the name of the hotel to the English poet and politician, George Gordon Noel Byron , who during his visit to Rome had been fascinated by the area surrounding the hotel. The Lord Byron, thanks to the color of its exterior, can also boast the nickname of "small white house "that was given to him in the 80s by a great international diplomat, and then kept in time. Over the years, the small white house has hosted many distinguished guests, including politicians, rulers, diplomats, entrepreneurs, sportsmen and international jet set characters, who have chosen it for the privacy and discretion that the hotel jealously safeguards.
