Monastero Santa Rosa
Amalfi, Italy
Perched on a cliff above Conca dei Marini, Monastero Santa Rosa began life as a 17th-century Dominican monastery founded by Sister Rosa Pandolfi. Today its 20 rooms and suites, each named after a herb the nuns once grew for remedies, look out over the Bay of Salerno. Days centre on an infinity pool suspended above the sea, terraced gardens, a spa built into the old stone walls, and Il Refettorio, the property's Michelin-starred restaurant led by Chef Alfonso Crescenzo.
