A Mayfair hotel for more than 200 years, the Connaught has a bar that’s regularly voted among the best in the world (mostly for its martini trolley), an Aman spa, a blush-pink bakery and a subterranean pool, as well as mews houses to move in to if you can’t bring yourself to leave. Jean-Georges Vongerichten opened a restaurant here a few years ago, joining Hélène Darroze and her three-Michelin-starred homage to her home region of south-western France (and its Armagnac).
