Santo Mauro, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid

Santo Mauro is the French-style palace built for the Duke of Santo Mauro at the turn of the 20th century, and his family still owns it. Three buildings sit in a private garden of fountains, terraces and ancient chestnut trees. Inside, the Red Room is pure French Classicism, while the Chinese Lounge displays pieces the Duke collected on his travels. Dinner is served in his former library, and the wine bar pours from a cellar of more than 250 wines, natural bottles included.
